It is not in my nature to ruin a book for another reader. I will not give any further details about the ending of this novel. I will say, however, that despite all that Lee experiences, she makes it through. The end is fairly eye-opening because
Lee realizes just how large and complex the world is. I was satisfied with the ending although it didn't end exactly as I would have pleased. I think it is only fit to call the end of this novel a beginning. Lee is beginning the rest of her life.
Thank you to everyone who read and commented on my posts. It's nice to know that someone was listening to my rantings.
All credit for Prep belongs to Curtis Sittenfeld who is certainly a true literary genius. She has crafted a novel so real and touching that I feel as though at least one person in the world may understand me. I believe Prep has been upgraded to the Top 5 of my favorite novels. I enjoyed nearly every second of this story. I feel very foolish for having let this book sit on my shelf for so long. I have had this book for at least a few years and this is the first time I have committed myself to reading it. It makes me wonder if maybe my life would be different if I'd read it sooner. When you think about it, our life is a culmination of experiences: from conversations to a book read and enjoyed. Each book I have read has left an impression on me. I can honestly say that this book has changed the way I look at the world, if only an increment. Would I be in a different place if I'd read this sooner? Would I have made different decisions? Will I make decisions in the future that I would not have without the influence of this book?
Who Knows?
